While things have seemingly been stalled for ages and various degrees of support (and lack thereof) surface every now and then, progress appears to have been made on the big budget live action World of Warcraft movie. Produced by Legendary Pictures for Warner Bros, who continue to look for a solid franchise to work with, it’s now been revealed that Duncan Jones will be taking on the directorial duties for the feature. Jones came to notice a few years back for the small budget film Moon and gained a bit more attention more recently with Source Code. A script for the movie has been done by Charles Leavitt, Robert Rodat and Christ Metzen but nothing has happened for awhile with it. According to the report, Warner and Legendary are looking to finalize securing financing for the feature in 2013 with a planned 2015 release year.

Plot Concept: The movie is set one year before World of Warcraft and will primarily be told from the Alliance’s point of view.
