‘Highschool DxD’ Getting Second Anime Season

1 min read

When you have a series that uses the majority of its ending to showcase its characters pole dancing, can you be surprised that it got enough eyeballs and attention to warrant a second season? Highschool DxD did just that and now that news is that the show is getting picked up for a second season. According to the Blu-ray included with the 13th light novel of the series which has an original episode on it, production has been approved for another show. The series comes from studio TNK and aired during the winter season of 2012 for thirteen episodes plus getting six OVAs. The show was simulcast by FUNimation and has since then gotten a full license pickup from FUNimation for North America and Madman Entertainment for Australia.  The show is based on the light novel of the same name by Ichiei Ishibumi and Miyama-Zero which has been running since 2008. It’s spawned a one-off manga release and another full on series that’s progressing slowly.
