Yurumate3Dei Episode #04 Anime Review

Token male, dead ahead. Almost literally due to the barbs thrown at him.

What They Say:
The girls of Maison Du Wish use different types of test to understand the complexity of Matsukichi.

The introduction of Matsukichi at the end of the last episode serves as the launch point here as the girls decide to go on an “Ask Matsukichi” game, but it doesn’t quite go as planned since even Yurume kicks things off by saying that he’s not all that interesting and there’s no reason to ask him questions. Instead, they go towards coming up with all sorts of bizarre things about him, from manipulating his name to talking about what he was in a past life. Suffice to say, their view of his past and present is not flattering in the slightest and it’s just a quick series of verbal abuses on the young man who does at least try to push back. When he talks about his future, it’s filled with hope, but it doesn’t take much for everyone else to shoot him down in amusing and quick ways.

In Summary:
Life in Maison du Wish is definitely not going to be easy for some residents and it’s quick to see that Matsukichi is going to be the guy to get picked on easily, though he does his best to stand his ground. What I really liked here though is that in going from the first episode to the fourth one, we see just how quickly Yurume has fallen. She seemed innocent and full of hope upon her arrival to the residence but by the second episode she was an old hat at being coy, cruel and mocking to everyone she comes across. She does at least poke fun at herself at times, such as the previous episode, but really, it didn’t take long for her to just jump all over someone else with abandon.
