‘The Stand’ Gets Former ‘Harry Potter’ Creative Alum

Warner Bros. is getting things together for their planned new adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Stand, which saw a miniseries back in the 90’s which was generally well regarded. The new adaptation, which would be done as a two movie deal at the least depending on how it’s handled, has Harry Potter director David Yates now having the deal finalized as well as that of Steve Kloves who handled adapting the Harry Potter books into film form. Warner is definitely looking at keeping two of their very well respected creative folks on studio as well putting the right kind of talent to handle an adaptation of such a well known property. Both men have been attached to various projects in the last year as things would down on Potter and Kloves has been doing some rewrites of various scripts for Warner as well.

Novel Concept: This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death.
