What They Say
In the town of Honey Waters, Lag seeks out “the Man Who Could Not Become Spirit,” who might have information on the missing Gauche Suede. Lag’s disappointed to find out that he’s a charlatan. However, the heart of this strange man in this strange little town yields a surprising clue. Lag might be closer than he ever imagined.

Content: (please note that content portions of a review may contain spoilers):
The Honey Waters Episode concludes with Lag, Connor, and Zazie teaming up to take down the Gaichuu ravaging the town. In the process, Lag’s shindan reveals a glimpse of Zazie’s past and a scrap of Hunt’s memory that offers a clue as to why Gauche disappeared. But just when you think Asada-sensei’s about to take Lag onto a new journey that’ll lead to his next clue, Lag literally runs into Gauche.

The encounter ultimately raises more questions than it answers. The only thing that’s certain is that bringing Gauche home to Sylvette will be no simple task, and the plot veers away from valiant Letter Bees fighting Gaichuu to political unrest and the dark side of the government. It’s heavy stuff, but Asada-sensei kindly ends this volume on a lighter note with a runaway Niche at Weapons and Bake Shop Sinners.

In Summary
In an unexpected and brief encounter, Lag meets Gauche. However, Gauche is no longer the gentle Letter Bee Lag once knew. Thus, the effort to bring him home grows more complicated even as the story shifts focus towards the group Reverse and their antigovernment efforts.
