Welcome back to our second edition of Star Wars Thursday!
It’s now officially summer, and wedding season is in full swing. Is there a better way to celebrate true love than with a Star Wars themed wedding? Sure, you could do things halfway. You could dance at your reception to the music from the Mos Eisley Cantina, hand out Star Wars related favors, or even walk down the aisle to the Star Wars theme song with your hair in Leia buns. (Is it obvious that I’m biased toward the original trilogy? Yeah, just a bit.)
I think we all know, though, that fanboys don’t do things in half measures. We’d do all of the above PLUS have an amazing Star Wars wedding cake. Forget all those silly flowers and ribbons. We want our cakes to shout, “It’s a trap!” With that said, I offer a cute, an amazing, and a downright disgusting wedding cake that make me seriously consider renewing my vows “geek style”. Or at least want to order myself one of these cakes!
The Cute: This adorable wedding cake topper features the couple with the best chemistry in the Star Wars universe – Han and Leia. They started out all “yes, your worshipfulness” and “I’d just as soon kiss a wookiee”. We all know how it ended, though. So celebrate the love of a princess and a scoundrel and acquire a conversation piece for your mantel for years to come.
The Amazing: What says love more than a fallen AT-AT? Well, many things, but I doubt they are as cool as this! It even came with a mini Admiral Ackbar and Mon Mothma. “Many Bothans died to bring us this information.” Sorry, folks, this was a custom job.
The Downright Disgusting: Is it possible to cross the line with a Star Wars wedding cake? It might be. This was a groom’s cake, though, so it’s totally acceptable. Do you think there were arguments about who got Luke’s head or the prime section of guts? Ah, the romance of feeding your beloved bride a chunk of Tauntaun tusk!
