Media Blasters Licenses ‘Squid Girl,’ Sets ‘Queen’s Blade 2’ Blu-ray Release

1 min read

Media Blasters has always been a fun company to watch as they bring stuff in out of nowhere sometimes and it just surprises to great effect. Case in point today as some of their solicitation information has come down that reveals that the company has not only licensed Squid Girl (a second season is in the works), but that it’ll arrive this September with a bilingual presentation of the first half of the series. We were delighted by this show when it first aired on Crunchyroll last year and are very excited to see such a cute and fun show come to the market. In addition to that, we’ve also got a look at the pricing and release plan for the Blu-ray edition of Queen’s Blade 2, which will contain the whole series in one fell swoop.

  • Queen’s Blade 2: The Evil Eye: Complete Collection (Blu-ray) – 300 minutes – $59.99 – 9/13/11
    • Japanese with English Dub (2.0/ 5.1)
    • Extras include:
      • OVA Episodes 7-12
      • Textless Opening and Endings
      • Anime Festival Event
      • Commercial Clips
      • Promotional Video
  • Squid Girl, Part 1 – 150 minutes – $24.99 – 9/27/11
    • Japanese with English Sub/Dub (2.0)
    • Contains episodes 1–6
    • Loaded with extras!

  1. well this is surprising media blasters as of late had been snagging live action titles left and right. nice to see they are finally going to be releasing more sets now instead of 4 episode dvds that cost 25-30 a pop
